Nazareth Academy, a Catholic school, has proudly completed the milestone of 157 years of excellence in education and continues to provide a quality, well-rounded Christian education in a safe environment.
 
At Nazareth Academy the students, faculty and staff live out the mission statement on a daily basis.  Prayer is incorporated throughout the school day and the faith lives of the students are strengthened as their reliance on God is encouraged.  Nazareth Academy students from PK3 to 8^th grade seek opportunities to serve others in the Church, the community and at school.   Academically, the students are challenged by a well-rounded curriculum and enriched through an excellent Fine Arts program.  Opportunities are provided for participation in a variety of sports.
 

• History of Nazareth Academy- Nazareth Academy was founded in 1867 by the Sisters of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament. There are seven Sisters involved in the school in some aspect, whether full-time or part-time, teacher, principal, office manager, or bookkeeper.

• A Diversified Student Body- For the school year 2023-2024, the N.A. student body is 56% Anglo, 37% Hispanic, & 7% Asian & Black).

• Religious Environment- Students begin and end the day with prayer, with other opportunities to pray throughout the day.  A Christian atmosphere encourages students to be the light of Christ to their classmates and teachers.  The student body attends Mass on a weekly basis.

• Academics- Nazareth Academy follows the curriculum adopted by the Diocese of Victoria and recognized by the Texas Education Agency.  Students take a battery of tests, Iowa Assessments of Basic Skills, to track the learning progress and to make any needed curriculum adjustments.  Other academic opportunities include competitions (such as PSIA and spelling bees) and enrichments classes that range from band, art, choir, computer, robotics and more.

• Sports- Learning the basics of the different sports and how to play as a team is the focus at NA. Students in grades 6-8 are eligible for all sports that include football (boys only), volleyball (girls only), basketball, soccer, track, softball, drill team and cheerleading. Students in grade 5 may participate in soccer, track and softball, while students in grade 4 may participate in soccer and track.  

• Fine Arts- Nazareth Academy’s fine arts program includes band for grades 5-8, a Middle School Choir, an Elementary Choir (Choir of Angels) and a general music program for students of PK4 to grade 4.  Art is taught to students of PK4 to grade 6 and as an enrichment class to grades 7-8.

• School Uniforms- Nazareth Academy supports a school uniform policy that keeps the student body neatly dressed.  

• Safe Environment- The school has a security system in which all outside doors are secured during the school day.  All parents and visitorsare required to check in at the front office.  All staff/faculty members, as well as individuals volunteering their services are screened through the diocesan Safe Environment Program to ensure the safety of all students.

• Communication- There are various ways that Nazareth Academy communicates with parents and guardians. RenWeb is an online portal where parents can log in and monitor their children’s grades. Parents and teachers can communicate via email through this system.  The Parent Alert System enables a direct, quick communication of important information via text, email and voice message to parents.

 
Nazareth Academy currently has more than 358 students enrolled in PK3 through Grade 8. The school family consists of happy students, caring parents, certified teachers, supportive alumni, and grandparents; which create a great NA family that shines in the community of Victoria.
