I graduated from Sam Houston State University in 1991 with a degree in Elementary, Special Education and English as a Second Language. I taught in Alief ISD (a Houston suburb) for two years before moving to Massachusetts to support my husband's career as a New England Patriot.
While in New England, we welcomed our first child, Jordan (former NA Jet, STJ, Baylor and TAMU CC graduate) to our family. We spent 8 years in the Northeast, five in Massachusetts and three in New York with the New York Jets. When my husband retired from professional sports, we moved to Houston, Texas where I was a substitute teacher in Cypress Fairbanks ISD. I continued to volunteer and sub for several years until we moved to Victoria, Texas. While living in Victoria, I was a sales representative for Carol Anderson, a designer based in Los Angeles, California and I continued to sub at Nazareth Academy. The teaching bug bit me while subbing at NA and I took a job as an adjunct instructor at Victoria College in the Academic Foundations Department.
Most recently I have been employed by the best school in Victoria as the 5th and 6th grade ELA teacher. This is an amazing opportunity to me as I got to teach my son, Sam while he was an NA Jet. Sam is currently enjoying his time at Victoria West High School playing tennis, basketball and taking AP classes.
