The Nazareth Academy Wellness Committee is excited to be holding the (2nd) "Jet to Good Health" Fair for its students on Friday, April 11. Last year's fair was a huge success--educational, informative and fun! The positive feedback from students and staff encouraged us to plan for a bigger and better event this year! The fair will be in various areas of the campus--on the playground, in the gym, classrooms, etc.
The committee is thrilled to announce the addition of even more activities, as well as arranging for all grade levels, including PK3 and PK4, to participate this year! There will be several presentations on health topics, as well as hands-on and physical activities such as Zumba, a “tasting table”, and thanks to the generosity of several sponsors, a Rock Climbing Wall for students in 3rd - 8th grade, and an inflatable obstacle course for the PK3-2nd grade! The students in PK3-4th will participate during their recess (after lunch), and the 5th-8th will participate from 12:50-3:25.
The Rock Climbing Wall is strictly voluntary--the students WILL NOT be forced to attempt the climb if they do not wish. However, if your child would like to participate, he/she MUST turn in a completed, signed Rock Wall Liability Release Form that you will receive (by email and hard copy). Any student that does not bring the completed form WILL NOT be allowed to climb the wall. By the same token, if your child turns in a form and changes his/her mind, he/she will not be forced to climb. For obvious reasons, girls that want to climb the Rock Wall MUST wear shorts or jeans on that day. They will not be allowed to climb if they are wearing skorts!
As we come down to the final stages of planning, we are soliciting your support. To ensure a smooth-running, safe event, we need parent volunteers to help on that day. If you would like to offer your assistance at any time (from 11:20-3:20) during that day, even for an hour, or would like more information on the Health Fair, please contact Mrs.Krejci at the school.
April 11 will be here before you know it! We hope the children are looking forward to this event as much as we are, and believe when it’s over, they will have reaped the benefit of the hard work of many!
We need parent volunteers for this day. Please contact Suzanne Krejci at skrejci@nazarethacademy.org or 361-573-6651.
