Mr. John Gilley, STJ President was awarded the 2024 Distinguished Alumni Award at the Diocese of Victoria's Diocese of Victoria’s F.I.R.S.T-Class Education and Distinguished Alumni Awards Ceremony held on Monday evening.
A 1999 graduate of Nazareth Academy and a 2003 graduate of St. Joseph High School, John’s life journey reflects the values, leadership, and commitment that Catholic education strives to instill in all its students. His early years here at Nazareth shaped the strong moral foundation that would carry him through his career in the banking industry and eventually lead him back to where his heart always belonged: Catholic education.
"John’s dedication to thinking outside the box and building partnerships with Catholic institutions reflects his unwavering belief in the transformative power of education. His ability to forge connections and work collaboratively ensures that the next generation of students can receive the same high-quality education that shaped his life. In John, we see someone who not only embraces the values of hard work, integrity, and service but amplifies them through his actions every day. He’s a man who exemplifies the spirit of giving back, always looking for new ways to uplift his community and ensure that Catholic education remains strong and vibrant for years to come." - Mrs. Leslie New, NA Principal
