Mr. John H. Gilley, IV is a 1999 graduate of Nazareth Academy and a member of the 2003 graduating class of St. Joseph High School where he participated in football and track. Prior to being appointed as President of St. Joseph High School, Mr. Gilley had a prosperous career in banking while also serving on the Board of Directors at STJ. It was while serving on the board, Mr. Gilley was approached to consider applying for the position of President of St. Joseph High School.
At Nazareth, Mr. Gilley participated in football, basketball, and softball as a Jet. As a flyer, Mr. Gilley excelled as a defensive lineman, earning multiple First-Team All-State Honors in his three years as a varsity player. After serving as Team Captain as a senior, Mr. Gilley was recruited and "redshirted" to play NCAA Division IA football at the Naval Academy Preparatory School at Naval Station Newport in Newport, Rhode Island while also serving as Midshipmen. Mr. Gilley continued his college football career back in the great state of Texas at Texas State University, where he served as team captain and ultimately was awarded the 2008 Texas State University Jim Wacker "Unbelievable" Award, epitomizing what it means to be a Bobcat as voted on by teammates and coaches.
