  Distinguished Alumni Award On Tuesday, February 21 Mrs. Mary Frances Schaar, Nazareth Academy Class of 1951, was the recipient of the Nazareth Academy 2012 Distinguished Alumni Award. This award, in its first year, recognizes outstanding alumni from Catholic schools in the Victoria Diocese. Mary Frances Schaar, who has an Associates degree in Business from Victoria College, has served on the Nazareth PTA for many years, as President of St. Joseph High School Mothers’ Club, an Officer of Independent Cattlemen’s Association, St. Mary’s Altar Society and Sactuary Archives, Bon Aire Garden Club, and Club Twenty. Her four children, Stephen, Karen, Travis, and Allen, as well as three grandchildren, have all attended Nazareth Academy. Her presence at Nazareth has aided the success of many projects, and Mary is a true historian and strong advocate for the school.
